Reasons for improper operation of the separator
Buying a separator is a pretty big investment in the family hearth. However, after a short period of implementation, completely different problems may appear that cannot be solved without delving into its structure.
Why the separator began to separate cream from milk poorly.
This problem can occur due to a number of reasons:
- Wear of the rubber gasket between the race and the cups.
- Milk is too hot.
- Creamer is not screwed on completely.
- Wear of brushes.
The nature of the breakdown can tell you where to look for the problem and its solution.
- In the separator, the working device is the drum, which consists of a large number of different parts:
- plate holder;
- set of aluminum plates;
- separator plate;
- adjusting screw;
- drum cover;
- sealing ring;
- nuts.
Next, we will try to figure out why certain problems may arise and how to solve them.
What if the cream is thick?
During operation of the separator, on the one hand, a completely non-critical problem may arise. At the moment when the separator starts to drive too thick cream, many people throw the device in the trash without understanding the reason.
In essence, thick cream is the same sour cream, only the fat content is several times less.
There are several ways to solve this problem:
- It is worth tightening the creamer from which the cream flows.
- Turn the adjusting screw until the desired consistency is achieved.
- You can try to adjust the milk supply with the flag, increasing the hole for the milk supply.
Milk has stopped separating
Almost all housewives have this problem, but not many are able to solve it. Before looking for serious breakdowns and problems, try to tighten the milk supply regulator to the device.
One of the effective solutions to this issue is to clean all the holes with an ordinary cotton swab. In many cases, milk is not separated from clogged channels.
If after these actions the separator continues to separate poorly, you will have to look inside.
Often the problem of poor separation affects devices in which the brushes have long been worn out. This is why the milk does not undergo such an important stage of processing. It is useful to change the brushes at least once every two to three months. Thanks to such care, the separator will serve you for a long time and without problems.
Milk here and there
The problem when milk flows instead of cream is quite common with frequent use.
If the separator does not beat the cream, you need to figure out after what this began to appear. In most cases, the main problem is incorrect assembly - this will be the first piece of advice. If reassembly does not help, try tightening the milk supply screw.
Another important factor is the initial temperature of the heated milk. If the milk is too hot, the entire process will not be effective.
Milk is missed during separation
It may also happen that during the distillation of milk into sour cream, some of the milk is not processed and mixes with the sour cream.
This question is quite common on blogs, but it is almost impossible to find practical advice.
The most basic solution to this issue is to tighten the main screw, regulating the intensity of the milk supply. If after these operations the separator still lets through liquid sour cream, clean all working holes.
It is also worth considering that the separator may not separate the cream due to the initially high temperature of the milk that is fed for separation. Perhaps this will be the solution to your problem.
